- To establish standards for certification and re-certification of Clinical Pharmacists in Recognized Clinical Pharmacy Practice Specialties.
- To grant qualified pharmacists certification and re-certification in recognized Clinical Pharmacy Specialties.
- To serve as co-ordination agency and information clearinghouse for organizations and pharmacists in recognized Clinical Pharmacy Practice Specialties.
- To enhance Public / Consumer protection by developing effective certification programs for specialty practice in Clinical Pharmacy.
Eligibility:
1. Should be a Licensed
(Registered) Pharmacist by any State PHARMACY COUNCIL OF INDIA to practice
Pharmacy within the jurisdiction of the State.
2. Should have at least 1 year previous experience in concerned specialty or department of any hospital, under supervision of any MCI registered Physician / Concerned Specialist / Concerned Head of Specialty Pharmacists/ or any other Equivalent.

CONSULTANT PHARMACEUTICAL CARE SPECIALIST (CPCS) is a Pharmacy Specialist who is paid ( Legally
acceptable as per Sec 6.5 of Chapter III of PPR-2015 of Pharmacy Act 1948
) to provide Patient care and Expert advice on the use of medications and
on the matters of health of any individual within or outside the Medical Settings.
This is considered as Independent Pharmaceutical Care Practice.
Pharmacists have grown to realize
that people are different in real life from the way they appear in a Medical
Record. They are aware that diseases and patient response to Pharmacotherapy
are frequently individual and not entirely ‘Text Book’.
Consultant Pharmaceutical Care Specialist uses Clinical skills to ensure that the potent receive quality, rational, cost
effective pharmaceutical care. Patient care outcomes are enhanced by the consultant
Pharmacists through drug regimens review, drug therapy assessment and quality
assurance activities.
Consultant Pharmaceutical Care Specialist strives to maximize the quality of health care and ensure the highest quality

An effective Consultant Clinical
Pharmacists is not limited by convention and is effective at developing new
ideas for systems and Programs.
The CCP works in a competitive

CCP.
